Armco are holding a UKATA approved Asbestos Awareness and Works with Non-Licensed Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) training session at Bury Business, Centre, Kay Street, Bury, Greater Manchester on Friday, 31st  January 2014  at 9.30 a.m.

If you work in any of the following professions, you have been deemed likely to come into contact with asbestos in your daily work tasks and therefore require by law to have received Asbestos Awareness training:

Please note that this list in not exhaustive. Please see this link for further details on your legal requirements regarding asbestos training:

https://www.hse.gov.uk/asbestos/training.htm

This ½ day Asbestos Awareness Training covers: the history of asbestos; the properties of asbestos and its effects on health; the types, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos in buildings and plant; and the general procedures to be followed to deal with an emergency. Armco’s training sessions are held by fully qualified and time-served surveyors whom deliver the class as an oral presentation with power point slides and written material. The candidates are presented with a certificate and Armco also provides the necessary yearly refresher training session.  The cost of this session is £65 per person plus VAT.

We are also holding that day, a Works With Non-Licensed ACM’s training which is made up of the ½ day Asbestos Awareness and is then followed by an afternoon session covering non-licensed ACM’s. Various asbestos products are considered low risk and therefore non-licensed, such as asbestos cement, floor tiles and texture coating. Such materials have been deemed low risk by the HSE and therefore any remedial works do not require a license. The materials still harbor some risk and therefore those undertaking such remedial works must be trained in working with such ACM’s. Once the one day course has been completed, the member of staff can then be utilised to undertake remedial works with non-licensed ACM’s as a competent contractor.  The cost of the course is a competitive £175 per person plus VAT and is minimal compared to the money save from avoiding costly sub-contractors and the increased revenue should you begin providing such services. You can just attend this afternoon session should you hold a valid Asbestos Awareness Certificate.

We also offer a quantitative half mask face fitting service which is £35 plus VAT per person but when booked in conjunction with the courses outlined above this is reduced to £25 per person plus VAT.

Our UKATA approved courses are provided under licence from our training partners UK Asbestos Specialists Ltd. The course is tutor led by a UK Asbestos Specialists Ltd registered trainer, certification will be administered and issued by UK Asbestos Specialists Ltd.
