Armco Asbestos Consultants have scheduled their next Asbestos Awareness and Works with Non-Licensed Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) training session for Friday, 27th July 2012 at Bury Business Centre, Kay Street, Bury, BL9 6BU.

The Control of Asbestos Regulations (2012) legally binds employers to comply with regulation 10 states ‘every employer shall ensure that adequate information, instruction and training is given to those of his employees who are liable to be exposed to asbestos or who supervise such employees’. Any workers who demolish or refurbish properties built before the year 2000 are likely to come into contact with asbestos. Our Asbestos Awareness training course educates workers on the history of asbestos, what is looks like and, when and how it was used in building. The attendee would be taught how it identify asbestos and the correct procedure to follow to deal with asbestos correctly. We offer this training at a competitive £55 per person plus VAT

The following professions are likely candidates for the training: demolition workers; carpenters and joiners; plumbers; roofing contractors; painters and decorators; plasterers; construction workers; fire and burglar alarm installers; shop fitters; gas fitters; computer installers; general maintenance staff e.g. caretakers; telecommunications engineers; building surveyors; cable layers; electricians and; heating and ventilation engineers.

The works with Non-Licensed ACM’s training is made up of the ½ day Asbestos Awareness and is then followed by a half days session covering non-licensed ACM’s. Various asbestos products are considered low risk and therefore non-licensed, such as asbestos cement, floor tiles and texture coating. Such materials have been deemed low risk by the HSE and therefore any remedial works do not require a license. The materials still harbor some risk and therefore those undertaking such remedial works must be trained in working with such ACM’s.

Once the one day course has been completed, the member of staff can then be utilised to undertake remedial works with non-licensed ACM’s as a competent contractor and therefore the use of costly sub-contractors can be avoided. In addition, you can then become a sub-contractor for other companies requiring such asbestos non-licensed remedial works. The cost of the course is a competitive £165 per person plus VAT which is minimal compared to the money saved from avoiding costly sub-contractors and the increased revenue should you begin providing such services.

The training is delivered by fully qualified and friendly professionals and at a competitive price. Contact the Armco office on 0161 761 4424 for further details. Please note, for larger numbers of persons requiring  we also provide training at premises throughout the UK.
