Every year thousands of people fall ill and die due to exposure to asbestos containing material and a total ban was introduced in the United Kingdom in 1999. That does not mean that there is no asbestos left, just that no more can be installed. The task now is to ensure that the asbestos which is still in situ is either removed or managed. So for any building built prior to 1999, there is a possibility that asbestos containing materials were used in its construction.
The Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2012 apply to employers, employees, self employed persons and duty holders and covers work with asbestos containing materials. Regulation 10 of CAR states that every employer must ensure that adequate information, instruction and training is given to employees who are liable to be exposed to asbestos during the normal work tasks. Our online Asbestos Awareness training course meets all the legal requirements for employee awareness training and you will learn about the history of asbestos; the properties of asbestos and its effects on health; the types, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos in buildings and plant; and the general procedures to be followed to deal with an emergency.
The online training is the cheapest, most accessible way to gain Asbestos Awareness and we offer it at a very competitive £23.50 plus VAT. It has been designed by industry professional not only to adhere to the asbestos related law but to stimulate the client with engaging video content. The following modules must be covered and a short random question test will follow each module:
