The Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) ‘Hidden Killer’ Campaign highlights that over 40 people per week die from asbestos exposure and that 20 of these are tradesman. Broke down further, this can be seen as 8 joiners, 6 electricians, 4 plumbers and 2 from other trades.

Due to this staggering death toll, the HSE have encompassed in their Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 – Regulation 10 which states that all those whom are likely in their daily works tasks to encounter asbestos must receive adequate asbestos related training.  If the employer has failed to ensure that this training implemented, the HSE will not hesitate in prosecution.

The cost of a fine from such prosecutions and the possible fatal consequences of asbestos exposure seem staggering compared the cost of a 3-3.5 hour Asbestos Awareness Course. Armco Asbestos Consultants provides such training for £55 plus VAT per person.

Armco’s training sessions are held by fully qualified and time-served surveyors whom deliver the class as an oral presentation with power point slides, written material and demonstrations. Delegates are presented with a certificate and we also provide yearly refresher training
