Armco now accredited with ISO 9001

There were cheers all round in the Armco office recently as we celebrated our award of the ISO 9001 Certification by a UKAS accredited certification body. Armco Asbestos Consultants in now accredited with ISOQAR for the following scope: ‘Asbestos Consultancy including Surveys, Training, Sampling, Management and Removals.

Our accreditation to this internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses illustrates Armco’s commitment to quality, customers and a willingness to work towards improving efficiency. It is concerned with the processes that create and control the products/services an organisation supplies. The accreditation requires that our company:

• Define our mission or quality policy and business goals;
• Establish quality objectives and show how they fit in to the operation of the business;
• Produce a documented quality policy indicating how these requirements are satisfied;
• Define our main process in a step by step flow charts;
• Control of all documents;
• Identify staff training needs and ensure good communication channels;
• Rate suppliers, ensuring their processes and requirements are up to date;
• Seek customer satisfaction data and ensure policy for complaints;
• Ensure key aspects such as Health and Safety are monitored.

The fourth and latest edition of the standard (ISO 9001:2008) arrived in November 2008 and is an important international tool to ensure that companies are able to offer a highly organised and regulated service, implemented by trained staff with good moral.

In conclusion, you can see that Armco demonstrates the existence of an effective quality management system that satisfies the rigours of an independent, external audit.
