Armco are holding an Asbestos Awareness and Works with Non-Licensed Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) training session at Bury Business, Centre, Kay Street, Bury, Greater Manchester on Friday, 22nd February 2013.

The Control of Asbestos Regulations (2012) legally binds employers to comply with Regulation 10, which states ‘every employer shall ensure that adequate information, instruction and training is given to those of his employees who are liable to be exposed to asbestos or who supervise such employees’. Any worker whom demolishes, refurbishes or maintains properties built before the year 2000 are likely to come into contact with asbestos.

Armco’s Asbestos Awareness course educates workers on the history of asbestos, what asbestos looks like and, when and how asbestos was used in building. The attendee would be taught how it identify asbestos and the correct procedure to follow to deal with asbestos correctly.

The Works with Non-Licensed ACM’s training is made up of the ½ day Asbestos Awareness, followed by a half day session covering non-licensed ACM’s. Various asbestos products, such as asbestos cement, floor tiles and texture coating have been deemed low risk by the HSE and therefore any remedial works do not require a licensed contractor. These materials are required to be removed/remediated by a competent contractor which attendance on this course ensures.

The training is provided by fully qualified and friendly professionals in the form of an oral presentation with power point slides and printed handouts. Contact the Armco office on 0161 761 4424 for further details.
