Does your company regularly need to employ a competent asbestos contractor to remove or repair low risk asbestos materials? If so, you could easily save money by enrolling your staff on our Works with Non-Licensed Asbestos Materials (ACM’s) training course.
Completion of the course enables the member of staff to be utilised to undertake remedial works with non-licensed ACM’s as a competent contractor and therefore the use of costly sub-contractors can be avoided. In addition, you can then become a sub-contractor for other companies requiring such asbestos non-licensed remedial works. The cost of the course is a competitive £110 and is minimal in money save from avoiding costly sub-contractors and the increased revenue should you begin providing such services.
Various asbestos products are considered low risk and therefore non-licensed, such as asbestos cement, floor tiles and texture coating. Such materials have been deemed low risk by the HSE and therefore any remedial works do not require a license. The materials still harbor some risk and therefore those undertaking such remedial works must be trained in working with such ACM’s. Here at Armco Asbestos Consultants, we are leaders in the provision of a high standard of various asbestos related training courses at a competitive price, held either on site at company’s properties or at our monthly training sessions held in Bury. We are also looking to expand our off-site provision down the M62 in theLeedsand Bradford Area and are currently searching for suitable premises.
The Works With Non-Licensed ACM’s training is made up of the a half days Asbestos Awareness session highlighting the dangers of asbestos, teaching awareness of asbestos and the necessary procedures once asbestos is identified. This training is applicable to those whose work will knowingly disturb asbestos containing materials. This is then followed by a half days session covering non-licensed ACM’s. The main points covered on the course include how to make suitable and sufficient assessments of the risk of exposure to asbestos; the control limit, the appropriate choice and use of respiratory and personal protective equipment, decontamination procedures, work which requires an HSE license, emergency procedures and waste handling procedures. This training would enable those trained to undertake the work outlined in the HSE publication “Asbestos Essentials” as follows:
Armco’s training sessions are held by fully qualified and time-served surveyors/removers whom deliver the session as an oral presentation with power point slides and written material. The candidates are presented with a certificate and we also provide the necessary refresher training sessions. Armco also offers Asbestos Awareness Training and Respiratory Mask Face Fit Testing. Other services include asbestos related consultancy and advice, various types of surveys and asbestos management and both licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal.
